Video file size calculator
Estimate a video file’s size in MB from its average bitrate in Mbps and duration in seconds
Link to this calculationHow to use · Video file size calculator
- Enter the combined average video and audio bitrate in Mbps and duration in seconds. Five minutes is 300 seconds.
- Run the calculation and check the result and its unit.
- Example: 20 Mbps × 300 s ÷ 8 = 750 MB. Copy the result or compare a different bitrate.
MB means 1,000,000 bytes and Mbps means 1,000,000 bits per second; MB differs from MiB. Use the average video plus audio bitrate. Container overhead is excluded, so this is an estimate, not a file analysis.
