Good to know
MP4 uses H.264/AAC; WebM uses VP8/Vorbis. Only the first video/audio tracks are kept. Subtitles, extra tracks and original metadata are not retained. Quality and size can change. First use downloads about 33 MB. A desktop is recommended for larger files; conversion can take several minutes.

How to read and check the result
Limiting a 1080p clip’s long edge to 1280 scales it proportionally; odd dimensions may be adjusted for the codec. Output is 30 fps and HDR is unsupported. This re-encodes rather than merely renaming or losslessly remuxing.
